SERP Features: Popular Stores

The Popular Stores SERP feature displays a selection of well-known retail outlets related to a user's shopping query, such as "electronics stores near me" or "best clothing shops." It can also be labeled as simply “Stores” on the SERP.

Here’s an example of what that might look like:

This feature helps users quickly identify and explore top-rated or frequently visited stores in a specific category. This feature is primarily featured on mobile devices.

How to Get Your Store Featured in Popular Stores

To help your store appear in the Popular Stores SERP feature, you can implement the following strategies:

  • Prioritize excellent customer service to increase satisfaction ratings.
  • Optimize Google Shopping listings and product page listings with relevant keywords, compelling product titles, and high-quality images.
  • Actively promote your store online to enhance visibility and improve your chances of being featured in the Popular Stores carousel.
  • Ensure your store is listed in the Google Merchant Center and features eligible products for Google Shopping while meeting performance benchmarks like high customer satisfaction and low return rates.

How Semrush Collects Data About the Popular Stores SERP Feature

  • When we scan a keyword’s SERP, we identify whether or not a Popular Stores snippet is present anywhere on the results page.
  • If a Popular Stores snippet is on the results page, but the domain you entered doesn’t appear for that list, its icon will appear gray in the SERP Features column.
  • If the queried domain appears in Popular Stores, you’ll see a stand-alone blue icon in the Positions column. This will allow you to see estimated traffic coming from the SERP feature. You’ll also see another row in the same table with the URL’s organic ranking and estimated traffic.
